OTHER EMERGING BIOTECHNOLOGIES FOR SUSTAINABLE WASTE MANAGEMENT An outlook of the processes of valorization of the municipal wastes through biogas and hydrogen production by anaerobic digestion and dark fermentation will be given. WASTE MANAGEMENT SUSTAINABILITY The environmental impacts and sustainability associated with all the stages of waste management will be examined in order to verify the environmental performances of new technologies, their social acceptance and economic viability. In particular, the methods adopted to carry out this analysis by Life-cycle assessment (LCA) will be described. INDUSTRIAL SECTION Some companies, with a leading role for Bio-economy in Europe, will show new technologies, applications and innovative solutions, based on sustainable biomass, complementary to petroleum derived materials and fuels, overcoming the inherent limitations of fossil-based derivatives, and without upsetting the food chain. EUROPEAN FUND RAISING FOR SUSTAINABLE WASTE MANAGEMENT (OPEN SECTION) An open section on European fund raising for sustainable waste management will take place. It will be openly addressed to all interested researchers.
